The GE Fanuc IC698CHS009 Rx7i I/O Rack is a 9-slot I/O rack for the Rx7i PACsystem series. This rear-mounted I/O rack is compatible with all Rx7i CPUs and I/O devices, the Series 90-70 I/Os, and the VME modules. The IC698CHS009 Rack comes with a slot-sensing capability, and it supports software configuration, eliminating the need for DIP Switches or jumpers for I/O addressing. The IC698CHS009 Rack also provides automatic daisy-chaining of the interrupt acknowledgement and bus grant signals, eliminating the need for slot jumpers, and it supports the Rx7i power supply plug-ins. The IC698CHS009 Rack has 9 I/O slots for installing Rx7i CPUs, I/O modules, and power modules. The slot numbered 1 through 8 are 20 millimeters wide and they support only single-slot modules. Slot 9 is 40.6 millimeters wide and it supports double-width modules. Slot 1 number is reserved only for CPUs and "slot 0" which is 61 millimeters wide is for the power supply module.

With the 100 Watts power supply, the IC698CHS009 Rack has a maximum current rating of 20 Amps at 5 Volts DC and one of 1 Amp at -12 Volts DC, and with a 350 Watts power supply, it has a maximum current rating of 60 Amps at 5 Volts DC and one of 4 Amps at -12 Volts DC. The IC698CHS009 Rack supports software configuration. I/O slot addressing is achieved by using the Machine Edition Logic Developer-PLC software. The IC698CHS009 Rack supports the use of optional fan assembly like the IC698CPE020/CRE020 assembly for enhanced cooling. The IC698CHS009 Rack is an open-design device that requires a standard IP 54 enclosure for protection on any factory floor. It has an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degree Celsius and total dimensions of 283 x 320 x 190 millimeters.
